BIOGRAPHY:
Timara has served with FHI Bolivia since October
of 2001. She is the National Assistant of Development and Finance.
Within this program she designs promotional materials, assists with
reports and proposals, and maintains the FHI Bolivia website. She
has also worked closely with the CDP program helping in the areas
of communication, photography, and special donations. Working with
FHI Bolivia has been, for her, an incredible journey of watching
God at work in the lives of families scattered across the cold,
altiplano of Bolivia.
Before
going to Bolivia, Timara was involved in a number of short term
outreaches to Mexico which led to a commitment to working with the
poor. She graduated from Trinity Western University in British Colombia
with a degree in Intercultural Religious Studies and an emphasis
on third world development.
Timara
uses her free time for hiking, photography, reading, and teaching
Bolivian co-workers the wrong way to play baseball.
REASON
FOR WORKING WITH FHI: FHI
is a development organization that meets people's needs at all levels.
It recognizes that the only means to the end of poverty is through
God's power at work in our lives. I wanted to work with an organization
that meets the needs of people physically even as it touches their
hearts for eternity.
